One life . . .

Janet and I attended the funeral service for Pastor Frank Navarro. His family gave him so much honor, especially for the Christian example that he was to all of them. At the end Johnny Dorris shared, concluding a very encouraging and God honoring service.

As I sat there, I gave God thanks that Johnny and Patty Dorris moved to Ontario over 40 years ago and planted the Praise Chapel church.  Because, it was at an outreach where Johnny met and witnessed to Frank Navarro who soon after gave his life to Christ. Johnny said, “He never turned back.”

Frank and Renate Navarro went on to plant a church in Hayward, CA., and then in Germany.  They have served and been a part of Praise Chapel all these years. The impact of his life upon his Children, Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren was amazing to hear as they shared about him. Only now as he is in heaven will he understand the impact of his life.

This is the impact of Win- Build- Send.

One couple responded to plant a church in Ontario, California. One man got saved at an outreach. Generations of people are saved around the world.

Never underestimate what God is doing through your life and ministry. God may have you where you are serving for just that, “1” person or one family.  Jesus stopped for one woman at a well and as a result an entire village received him.

Let’s keep at it, always.

Better is Possible! 5 Steps to a better life.

Hello Friends.  Today I want to take time to encourage you that Better is Possible in your life. The Bible says in John 10:10 (MSB), “A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.”

Jesus didn’t come to earth so that we could live our lives the same way every day. Instead, he came so that we could have a better life. A more abundant life. A life of possibilities that never end!

Matthew 13:19-23 (NLT) says, “The good soil represents the hearts of those who truly accept God’s message and produce a huge harvest—thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted.”

Friend, which one do you think God wants for you? 30? Maybe 60? Possibly 100?

This is not the question you should be asking. Jesus said that He came so that we could have more and better life than we ever dreamed we could have! Of course God wants you to produce 100 fold. He wants what is best for you. So, instead of asking which God wants for you (30, 60, or 100) you should be asking: which one do you want for yourself.

Now, let me assure you that it is not wrong for you to want better things for your life. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (VOICE) says, “God is ready to overwhelm you with more blessings than you could ever imagine so that you’ll always be taken care of in every way and you’ll have more than enough to share.”

Beloved if you are ready and willing to hope and strive for the fullness of your potential here are some steps you can take.

1. Cultivate a MIND THAT BELIEVES

First you must believe that better is possible for you. Romans 12:2 NKJ,  “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Throughout their life, a person is told an average of TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY THOUSAND times in their life that they can’t do something and this number doesn’t even include the number of times they tell themselves that!

On average it takes TWENTY EIGHT times of hearing yes YOU CAN to change a NO from being embedded in your subconscious mind.

Everything begins inside of you.

2. You must develop EYES OF FAITH.

Paul says in Ephesians 1:18, NKJV, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” Basically, Paul is saying that the eyes of your heart, of your faith, are opened so that you can see the hope and glory of God’s plan for us.

3. Have a HEART THAT DREAMS.

John 10:10 (MSB), A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. Joseph had a dream. Dreams are imperative to our lives because if we do not dream then we will never live up to our potential. Joseph dreamed that his family would bow down to him and eventually they did. If Joseph had never dreamed his family might not have sold him and he might never have lived up to his full potential.

If we don’t dream we become stagnant and complacent and content with where we are and growth and change never come.

4.  Dedicate yourself to COMMITMENT TO WORK.

Genesis 2:15 (NKJV), “Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”

INCREASE IS THE REWARD FOR YOUR LABOR!

Reader, do you think that you are doing as good as you can right now? Whether it be in your finances, marriage, or walk with God?

God put man in the Garden of Eden to work, tend, and keep. Work is a good thing and it is one of God’s ways of blessing us with increase.

5. Have the COURAGE TO ASK.

Matthew 7:7, NKJV, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 21:22, NKJV, “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

If you can find the courage to ask for better things in your life and your have the ability to dream and believe that it can happen you will receive it friend.

Better is possible in your life. These are five easy steps you can take to get to better things in this new year. I pray that you find a heart that believes, eyes that see, a heart that dreams, the commitment to work, and the courage to ask.

Tea With Jesus: Philippians 2:1-8

This is a repost from my granddaughter’s blog. I hope you enjoy it.

“If you find any  encouragement from being in the Anointed, if His love brings you some encouragements, if you experience true companionship with the spirit, if His tenderness and mercy fill your heart; then brothers and sisters, here is one thing that would complete my joy—come together as one in mind and spirit and purpose, sharing in the same love. Don’t let selfishness and prideful agendas take over. Embrace true humility, and lift your heads to extend love to others. Get beyond yourselves and protecting your own interests; be sincere, and secure your neighbors interests first. In other words, adopt the mindset of Jesus the Anointed. Live with His attitude in your hearts. Remember: though he was in the form of God, He chose not to cling to equality with God; but he poured Himself out to fill a vessel brand new; a servant in form and a man indeed. The very likeness of Humanity, He humbled himself, obedient to death—a merciless death on the cross!” Philippians 2:1-8 (Voice).images-3

While there are several prominent themes that jump out at you in this verse, I will focus only on obedience to the Holy Spirit. My dear readers and friends, do you find any comfort in Jesus? If so, there is a call upon your life. It looks heavy and burdensome, but it is the lightest burden you will ever have to bear. I speak of the burden and call of obedience to the Holy Spirit. I know, obedience is a scary word. A word that most people fear, hate, and even loathe. However, you can have confidence in the fact that obedience to God is never the wrong thing to do. His ways are higher than our ways and his plans are much better than our own plans.

I feel that there are several reasons that people do not like this word, obedience. Most prominently is a sense of entitlement that most people have today. When I say most people I mean most people. I do not just mean millennials. I mean most people of every generation. Specifically though, I feel that most people feel they are entitled to live their lives the way that they want to with no input or direction from any other person. Because of this, we hate to be told what to do. It immediately creates a rift in our minds between us and the person who is ordering us around. If they were once our friends, they aren’t any longer. They are our enemy because they think they are better than me. “Who do they think they are ordering me around?!?! They can’t do that to me!” images-1Unfortunately, this also happens with the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit instructs them to do something, they brush the instruction or feeling off and tell themselves that it wasn’t really the Holy Spirit so that they do not have to feel responsible for anything that happens after that. Jesus was in sync with the Holy Spirit every step of his life. Even when the Holy Spirit called him to die a sinner’s death on the cross, he never for a moment tried to run away from the call. We know that he cried out to his Father to find another way, but when no other way was presented, he went to his death willingly and obediently. Because of that, we owe him a life debt. We belong to Him. Himages-2e is our Lord and Master. So, when start to feel entitled to live our lives the way we want to and not the way He wants us to, we are not being obedient to the Holy Spirit. When we learn to differentiate between the whispers of our enemy that put wood on the fire of entitlement, and the whispers of the Holy Spirit we are able to push off thoughts of entitlement and win a spiritual victory. After enough of those victories, you might find that you cease to hear the whispers of the enemy at all and that you hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit more and more.

I struggle myself with being obedient to the Holy Spirit daily. It is not images-4easy. I want to encourage you to listen to the whispers of the Holy
Spirit in your life. Blessing will follow obedience and I promise that The Anointed’s way are higher than our ways and his plans are better than our plans. Things don’t always turn out the way you might expect them to, but they will turn out for the best if you head the Holy Spirit.

Until next time
